Our evaluation process

We schedule 2 evaluation visits for every potential new client, at no charge:

  1. The first is a brief 15-20 minute visit where we introduce your dog to a few easy to meet friends here at Wags and do an initial assessment of their ability to greet new dogs appropriately and they are able begin to relax a bit, maybe even play for a few minutes.
  2. The next visit is no longer than 1 hour, and we bring your dog outside to play with a few more dogs.  We want to be sure that your dog isn’t too fearful or anxious, not aggressive or overwhelming in their play style, and that they can be safely handled by our staff.

If your dog is enjoying their time here during these first 2 evaluation visits, and responds well to new dogs and our staff, we begin scheduling a few “Mini Days” – no longer than 2 hours –  to allow your dog to get used to coming without being overwhelmed or over-tired.  It may take a few visits, maybe a few weeks of visits, or sometimes even months, for your dog to able to come for full days.  We let your dog tell us what they are able to comfortably and safely handle.

We require that all clients commit to a regular schedule of at least two days per week. We are typically fully booked, and often have a waiting list for each day.  If your dog is unable to attend their regularly scheduled day, we request that you call or email us 24 hours in advance to cancel their reservation so that another dog might be able to get in that day. We do charge clients for missed days if we aren’t notified.
