Dog Training

Our dog training classes and private consultations use positive, reward-based methods that build strong life-long relationships between dogs and their humans.  Our dog training methods help dogs and handlers learn quickly by marking and rewarding the behaviors we want – such as sit, stay, leave it and come when called.  We build the foundation of learning with your dog so that you can have a happy, well-mannered canine companion.

We offer Puppy Training Classes, Basic Manners Classes for all ages of dogs, Level 2 Manners to continue the exciting learning process and Canine Good Citizen Prep Classes.

Our Training Team

  • Carol Watkins, our Director of Training, has 20 years of experience training dogs in the greater Boston area.  She is also an Instructor at North Shore Community College in the Animal Care Program.   She is a certified Canine Good Citizen evaluator, and teaches group dog training classes along with offering private behavior consultations.
  • Sydney Bates, our Manager here at Wags, has been working with Carol in our Dog Training Program since 2012.
  • Kaleena Hildonen has been working with us at Wags since 2008 and has been working in our Dog Training Program since 2011.

Wags Day School Training Program

Once you become a regular Daycare client, we offer some extra Training perks!

Our Day School program is ideal for busy dog owners and their dogs! This program is wonderful for those looking to reinforce previous training or even those who need their pooch to learn the basics from scratch! After an evaluation, we provide your dog with the opportunity to socialize, play, learn and thrive. Throughout your dogs day of playing in the pack, one of our trainers will take them aside for a one-on-one training session.

Every dog has their own needs, personality and threshold. This is why, after a brief consultation, we construct a personalized training plan based on you and your dog’s needs. At least 8 sessions along with practice at home, is recommended to start seeing real results. Once your plan is completed, our trainer will meet with your to discuss the progress and how to continue practicing at home.

  • 5 Sessions: $150.00
  • 10 Sessions: $300
