Wags Dog Training

**As of December 1st, 2023 we will not be accepting any new private training inquires, only group classes.  We hope to have private training back up and going in a few months. Thank you for your patience and understanding!**

Our dog training classes and private consultations use positive, reward-based methods that build strong life-long relationships between dogs and their humans.  Our dog training methods help dogs and handlers learn quickly by marking and rewarding the behaviors we want – such as sit, stay, leave it and come when called.  We build the foundation of learning with your dog so that you can have a happy, well-mannered canine companion.

We offer Basic Manners Classes for all ages of dogs, Advanced Manners to continue the exciting learning process and in home private training.

Beginner Manners is best suited for dogs who can be excited by other dogs, but are not reactive on leash. Group classes are set up for dogs to learn in a distracting environment while not pushing them over threshold.

Our Training Team

  • Kaleena Hildonen, our Lead Trainer, has over 10 years of experience training dogs.  She is a member of the APDT (Association of Professional Dog Trainers) and graduated from Gail Fisher’s Dog Training course at All Dog’s Gym in New Hampshire.  She studied under Carol Watkins at NSCC and assisted her in classes for 8 years here at Wags before teaching her own classes.  She has multiple certifications through Ian Dunbar’s Dog Training Academy and attends educational seminars on canine behavior to stay on top of emerging trends in pet dog training.  She recently added Akela, a German Shepherd Dog, to her family, joining Titan, a shepherd mix, her 2 children and her husband.  Akela is growing up to be a very well-mannered puppy, thanks to Kaleena consistently working with him on the skills and manners that she teaches in our classes.
