Meet Our Staff

Lisa Kane

Lisa Kane, Owner

Lisa is the proud owner and Leader of the Pack at Wags.  She opened Wags in 2007 after growing up believing she could talk to the animals.  She brings her business background and love of dogs together in this venture.  She lives in Hamilton, has a wonderful husband and 2 grown sons, and is the proud owner of Piglet, a rescued deaf French Bulldog.

Sydney Bates: Manager

Sydney, Manager and Dog Trainer

Sydney, our Manager, joined us in July of 2010, and is a 2013 graduate from NSCC with a degree in Animal Care Science. She is also a member of our Training Team, working with Carol in dog training classes and helping clients during private, in-home training sessions.  Sydney is Red Cross certified in Pet First Aid and has also attended seminars on Dog Behavior with Sue Sternburg, Ian Dunbar and Ronald Schultz. She is holding her dog, Ace, who she adopted from a rescue group.

Carol Watkins: Director of Training

Carol Watkins, Director of Training

Carol is our Director of Dog Training and has been training dogs for 20 years. Carol is an Adjunct Professor at North Shore Community College in their Animal Care Program. She is a Sheltie fanatic, owning two of her own: Trip, and Delp.


Kaleena, Dog Trainer and Dog Handler

Kaleena has been with us since  2008. Kaleena graduated from NSCC’s Animal Care Specialist program. She is Red Cross certified in Pet First Aid and has also attended seminars on Dog Behavior and Dog Training. Titan is her dog, rescued from a local shelter.  She has two adorable children as well.


Kara, Dog Handler

Kara  joined us in April of 2017. Kara has always had a love for animals. She graduated from Essex Agricultural and Technical High School. She is currently attending NSCC’s Animal Care program. She also has a dog of her own, Zoe, a terrier mix.


Joe, Dog Handler

Joe, the owner’s Son,  joined us in November of 2016. As he grew up, he gained much experience being around Wags and dogs visiting his home. Joes has always had an interest in nature and dogs and as it turns out he has quite the knack for working in the pack here at Wags! He has his family dog at home that many of you many know, Piglet


Ryan, Dog Handler

Ryan joined us in 2015 as an Intern though NSCC’s College and Career Access Program (CCAP).  He was offered a Dog Handler position with us after he completed that program in May of 2016. He continues to take classes at NSCC and works with us part time while in school.


Jordan, Dog Handler

Jordan joined us in November of 2017 as a part of the Essex Tech Co-Op Program. Following her love for dogs, Jordan’s  shop major at Essex Tech is Companion Animals. She has gained lots of knowledge in the program and is now gaining hands on experience here at Wags. Jordan is certified in Pet First Aid and has experience training dogs to become CGC Certified. At home, she has a 5 year old Yorkie named Fletcher.

Chris, Dog Handler

Chris came to us in November of 2017 and has been working with dogs for about 2 years now. He has gained much experience working at daycares in the Boston area before finding his place here at Wags.  Chris is observing and learning about becoming an Assistant Trainer for our Training Classes and is also Certified in Canine CPR. He has a 20 year old cat named Coco and hopes to have a dog of his own someday soon.

Brianna, Dog Handler

Brianna joined the pack in October of 2017. She is a freshman enrolled in the Animal Care Program at NSCC with her goal to become a Vet Tech. Brianna has had a love for animals since a child and always grew up having pets. Now, she has a 1 year old Plott Hound named Shadow and 2 cats. Brianna also has a certificated in Pet CPR.

Olivia, Dog Handler
